Idaho wheat yields up 46 percent from 2021

Idaho wheat yields are projected to be 46 percent higher than they were in 2021, the United States Department of Agriculture says. Based on conditions in May, experts say Idaho should produce 66.4 million bushels in 2022. The average yield is 91 bushels, up 20 bushels from 2021. Despite these high yields, growers planted an estimated 80,000 less acres than in 2021. However, the amount of acres actually harvested is 90,000 higher.
