Wayne Hurst
Wayne grew up in Declo, east of Burley, in Cassia County. His diversified row crop operation is on the same land his grandparents cultivated and has been farmed by his family for nearly a century. He and his wife, Sherrie, now own and operate the farm where they grow wheat, sugar beets, dry beans, and alfalfa. He and Sherrie have five children and 12 grandchildren, and plan to keep their multigenerational family farm in the family for many more generations.

Wayne is committed to being actively involved in his church and his community in many ways. He has played the trombone in the Magic Philharmonic Orchestra since 1984, playing alongside many family members over the years. Prior to his appointment to the Idaho Wheat Commission, Wayne was president of the Idaho Grain Producers Association (IGPA) and National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG). He has also been the chairman of the National Wheat Foundation and served on the Railroad-Shipper Transportation Advisory Council executive committee. Wayne studied music and agriculture, respectively, at Brigham Young University and Idaho State University.
