HYPOTHESIS & OBJECTIVES:
Development of improved wheat cultivars with drought tolerance.

Objective 1: Identify drought-related traits, QTL and markers that significantly associated with grain yield under drought conditions in adapted cultivars, breeding lines and mapping populations.

Objective 2: Create novel germplasm and develop a new generation of drought tolerant varieties using chemical mutagenesis.

Objective 3: Create novel germplasm and develop a new generation of drought tolerant varieties using genetic transformation.
